CREATIVE AGING Workshop Series - Acrylic Painting Together
The Creative Aging Series of workshops is designed for senior parents and their adult children to enjoy a creative, nurturing experience together in a local art gallery setting. Each session is a blend of art-making, relaxation, and sensory stimulation, crafted to deepen connections and create cherished memories. With music, textures, fragrances, and visuals, these sessions will be accessible to all skill levels.
Session 1 of 3: March 29th 1:00-2:30 PM - Acrylic Painting Together
Description: An acrylic painting session where each participant can create complementary pieces. With simple, step-by-step instruction, attendees will work side-by-side on a theme, like “Seasons of Life” or “Reflections in Nature.” Soft background music will play, with optional essential oils in the room to enhance relaxation.
$45 per person.
Materials will be provided.
Subsequent sessions require their own registration. These sessions are as follows:
Session 2 of 3: April 26th 1:00-2:30 PM - Journaling for Connection
Session 3 of 3: May 10th 1:00-2:30 PM - Watercolor Painting for Relaxation
About the Instructor:
Michele Stone is an award-winning, internationally recognized artist with over 25 years of exhibition experience. She studied at the Columbus College of Art and Design and holds certifications as a Therapeutic Arts Life Coach and in Healing with Color and Arts. Michele has spent the last 16 years instructing art in diverse settings, including cultural centers, summer camps, private lessons, assisted living facilities, corporate events, birthday parties, online classes, private events, and homeschool groups. Her teaching spans both local and international venues, including collaborations in East Africa, where she taught therapeutic arts to non-profits, orphanages, and rehabilitation centers. In addition to her work in therapeutic arts, Michele has curated numerous art exhibitions, managed gallery spaces, and developed art programs that have significantly boosted participation and engagement. Her commitment to using art as a tool for healing and self-expression has made her a sought-after instructor and speaker in the Tampa Bay area and beyond. Michele’s top strengths, as revealed through the Clifton Strengths assessment, include Connector, Developer, Individualization, Empathy, and Positivity.
